Task guide

Your profile and what you are told

Keep your own details current and choose how each kind of notice reaches you, in the app, by email or by text message.

Your profile

Open your name at the top of the screen or at the foot of the menu to reach your own pages, as tabs: Profile, Preferences, Security, Sessions, Notifications, Calendars, Connections, Exports, Leave, Access and My standing, as your permissions allow. How the console looks, opens and reads times is under Preferences (Your preferences).

Changing your email address sends a confirmation to the new address and a notice to the old one, so nobody can quietly move your account to an address they hold.

Choose how you are told

Every notice the system sends is a named kind, such as a hearing coming up, a task assigned to you or a document waiting for your approval. For each kind you choose the channels.

  1. Open your profile, then its Notifications tab. Under Delivery, Daily digest gathers quiet notices into one email a day; urgent ones still go at once.
  2. The notices are grouped by what they are about. Find one by its words, or open a group from the list beside them; show the essential notices, the ones you have customised, or all of them.
  3. Each row is a kind of notice and each column a channel. Tick the channels you want.
  4. Choose Save preferences. Your choice wins over the firm's default for that kind.
The notification catalogue grouped by subject, one row per kind of notice and a column per channel.
The notification matrix: one row per kind of notice, one column per channel.

The firm's defaults

Settings, Notifications, Firm defaults is the same grid for the whole firm: what every person starts from, and what somebody who has never chosen for themselves receives. A person's own choice wins over it. The Wording and Email and text tabs beside it are explained in Word the firm's notices, and keep text messages within budget.

The notification centre

The bell at the top of the screen counts what you have not read. Open it to read, filter and mark notices read; each one links to the record it is about.
