KYC and AML
Knowing who the firm acts for, under Act 1044
The firm decides what it must hold for each kind of client, the system says what is missing and when a review falls due, and the compliance officer confirms the risk band.

- Partner

How it works in practice
The guides a firm's people use, open to anyone deciding whether it fits.
- Know your customer and AMLWhat the firm must hold about each client under its own rule, how the risk band is set and confirmed, and how reviews and internal concerns work.
- Sanctions and PEP screeningRecord each search of the sanctions and politically exposed person lists for a party, keep the search result as evidence, and resolve a possible match before the party is verified or reviewed.
- Reports to the FICHow reports of suspicious and cash transactions are drafted, approved by a second person, filed with the Financial Intelligence Centre inside their time, and kept away from the client.
