Importing a company's registers
Bring a company the firm takes on into the system from a spreadsheet: members and their shares, officers, charges and beneficial owners, checked row by row and imported all at once.
A company that comes to the firm with years of history does not start from nothing. From the company's actions menu choose Import registers.
Read the file, then import it
- Download the template, a spreadsheet with a row for each member and holding, officer, charge and beneficial owner.
- Fill it in and choose the file.
- Read the file. Every row is checked and each problem named against its column: a number that is not one, a party whose name matches more than one on the register, an officer already in office, owners coming to more than the whole.
- Import once nothing needs correcting. The whole file goes in as one audited batch, or none of it does.

What the import records
Holdings come in as opening allotments, marked as opening entries, so the register reads them as it reads any other transaction. A person or company not yet on the party register is added to it.
