Task guide

The calendar and court diary

Put hearings, meetings and internal events in the diary, repeat them, and read the court diary grouped by court and time.

Add an event

  1. Open Calendar and choose New event.
  2. Give it a Title and choose the Type: Hearing, Meeting or Internal.
  3. Set the day and times, or All day, the Location, the Matter and the Attendees. A hearing must name both its matter and its Court, because the court diary is drawn from them.
  4. Switch on Private if it is nobody else's business.

If an attendee is already booked at that time, you are warned before saving.

Repeating events

An event can repeat daily, weekly on chosen weekdays, monthly or yearly, until a day or for a number of times. To change a repeating event, choose whether the change is for this occurrence, this and the ones after it, or the whole series. Cancelling works the same way and asks for a reason.

Views

The Week, Day, Month and Agenda tabs, narrowed to your own events, your matters' teams or the whole firm, and by matter, court, kind or person. Leave, court vacations and holidays show in the same diary.

The court diary

Calendar, Court diary groups the hearings in a window by court and then by time, with the matter and the counsel attending. Print it daily or weekly for the clerk's desk.

Your calendar elsewhere

There are two ways to see your diary in another calendar app. The firm's diary remains the one that counts in both.

  • Push to Google or Outlook. Open your profile, Calendars, and choose Connect beside Google or Outlook, then sign in with that account and allow access. The events you attend, from a week back to three months ahead, are written into that calendar and kept up to date within fifteen minutes of any change. An event changed or deleted there is put back as the diary has it. Only the providers your firm has registered on its integrations screen are offered.
  • Subscribe to a feed. Under Any other calendar on the same tab, Subscription link gives a private address Apple Calendar or any other app can subscribe to. Apps refresh a feed on their own schedule, often only a few times a day.

If the provider withdraws access, the connection is marked for reconnecting and you are told. Disconnect removes everything that was pushed and forgets the access.
