Filings and the filing season

Every statutory filing the firm owes for its companies, from due to confirmed, with its deadline, fee and late penalty, and a whole season of one filing worked together.

A filing is raised when a change is recorded (an officer, an allotment, a charge, the office, the name, a special resolution, beneficial ownership) or when a year comes round. Its due date comes from the firm's filing rule: the event's day plus the days allowed, or for an annual filing its anniversary or the months after the year end. A deadline is made on the company's secretarial matter, and it moves or is cancelled with the filing.

Work a filing

A filing opens on its own page with its next step as the button: Record the draft, Record the signed copy, Record as filed (with the authority's reference), then Record the confirmation or Record a rejection. Each keeps the document that evidences it. An annual return can be prepared from the registers as at its made-up date. A filing late past its due date shows the penalty it is running up, worked out from the rule.

The official fee and any penalty paid are recorded as disbursements on the secretarial matter, with the receipt, so they bill. Move the due date needs the authority's word (an extension, a court's order) as evidence.

Across the firm

Companies, Filings lists every company's filings, narrowed by status, authority, who is assigned and the dates. Filing season takes one filing and a window, and works every company's at once: assign them, mark them drafted or record them filed, each with its own reference. Rows that cannot move are listed with the reason; the others go through.
